FIRE COATING
FIRE COATING
At PNW INSULATION LLC, we offer three different types of fire coating systems designed to help provide additional fire protection for spray foam insulation.
In the event of a fire, a thermal barrier helps protect spray foam from direct flame exposure, increasing fire resistance and slowing the spread and damage caused by fire. This can provide residents, employees, customers, and other occupants with additional time to safely exit the building.
WHERE FIRE COATING IS USED
Fire coating systems are commonly used in a variety of commercial, residential, and institutional applications, including:
Schools & Colleges
Nursing Homes
Child Care Centers
Hospitals
Correctional Facilities
Apartments & Multi-Family Buildings
Hotels
Factories & Manufacturing Facilities
Warehouses
Retail Stores
Restaurants
Utility Facilities
Railroad & Transportation Facilities
Oil & Chemical Installations
Military Installations
Other facilities where a 15-minute thermal barrier rating is required over polyurethane spray foam surfaces
TINTING
Tinting is available for certain fire coating applications. However, simply shaking the product is not sufficient to ensure the colorant is thoroughly blended.
Proper application requires thorough mixing with a paddle mixer or drill-mounted mixer to achieve a consistent and uniform color throughout the coating.
At PNW Insulation LLC, we follow proper preparation and application procedures to help ensure the fire coating system is applied correctly and according to the applicable project requirements.
